...for my health.
As most of my dedicated fans (Grandma, Aunt Amy, Mom, Dad, Olivia and going out on a limb here.. Durk) know my diet consists of cereal, pasta, bread, snacks, and milk. I say living in a city is dangerous because it takes me about 2 minutes (round trip) to hop on the lift, take it down, walk 5 feet into the store next to us and pick up any necessities like Oreos and Pringles obviamente (obviously).
So yeah, my eating habits have not changed much to my immune system's dismay. However, I did just have my first empanada! (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Empanada) Comí una empanada con carne (I ate a meat empanada). Although I don't know what type of meat, it was definitely meat and it was definitely gooooooood. My list of newfound food I will actually eat and enjoy:
1. Calamari (fried or not)
2. Potatas con brevas
3. Empanadas
My goal is to make this list go to 10 by the end of my semester. Such big dreams! I know.
I'm sorry it's been so long since my last post because I'm sure the first thing y'all do when you wake up is check on this Barca babe. Not too much has gone on since I last wrote. I am settling into my classes at CEA, the program I am studying with, and finally getting comfortable with navigating the city. Fortunately/Unfortunately, I will be starting my 8 credit class at University of Barcelona on Wednesday! It is fortunate because I am now finally going to be immersing myself completely in Spanish, but it is unfortunate because it's an 8 credit hour class Mon-Thurs 8:30-11:30am.. 🙅 I am really excited, but I am also really nervous. I had the placement exam last Friday and it was so hard. The classroom along with the university is absolutely gorgeous, but the desk is so small it doesn't even fit a piece of paper. So I had to take my placement exam sideways.
This weekend 4 of my roommates were traveling so it was just Sara, Katie and I. Sara and I decided to spend most of the weekend on the couch catching up on every movie that was made in 2013 and eating every snack we could find in the apartment. (Worst belly ache ever) Slow weekend but happy weekend! On Sunday Sara and I went to Plaça Espanya to go to a mall. The mall is actually a renovated bull fighting arena! (Poor bulls 😥 ) but it was cool to see the original stonework. Also, on the very top you can walk around and have a view of the whole city which was beautiful. After that we walked to a Catalan Art Museum MNAC (Museo Nacional d'Art de Catalunya). It closed at 3 pm and we got there at 3:30 so we decided to just take pictures and walk around. It was such a beautiful day.
One of my favorite things about Barcelona is the weather. How can you not love that? vVv
(the rain is rare it's only rained once or twice since I've been here and I'll take rain over snow any day)
